Life as a Gaian
Observations of life as a avatar in the Gaia world
My Aquarium
My house is literally turning into a zoo. I've got Kaya the cat, Pora the polar bear, Tama the fox, the angelic and demonic imps, Langer the dragon, a couple of overprotective Dobermans, my pretty doves, a wolf pup, a fully grown wolf and tiger, a Kelp Horse, a pegasus, a mythic rabbit, a griffin, a reptilian lotus flower and a couple of dust bunnies that are growing and spreading into who-knows-what. And yesterday, I got more.

The Gaian government felt that we gaians needed a little whimsy in our lives, so they provided each of us with our very own aquarium for raising fish. They even gave us a few to start out with. And a new store was opened in town that specializes in the selling of fishes and tank equipment.

It's kind of neat to have something new to play with. I've always enjoyed watching fish in an aquarium. And of course, gaian fish are very pretty. Unfortunately, they are not all that interesting. I can only sit and stare at them for so long before I lose interest and move on to other things. And that's too bad because unlike all my other animals, gaian fish don't live forever. They're kind of expensive, especially considering that fact, so I don't know how often I'll restock my aquarium, but at least it's something new and different. Since I'm still having trouble getting my pretty new furniture set up in my house, and I've bought so much stuff that I'm losing interest in the marketplace, it's good to have a change of pace for a little while.

I hear rumor that the clam that they gave us has something special about it. Supposedly it watches over the tank and gauges the overall happiness of the ecosystem. Then it rewards me for doing a good job if it decides I deserve such a thing. I haven't yet seen any kind of activity in the clam which tells me either that's a falsehood, or I'm doing a very poor job taking care of my fishies. But since I've only had them for about 24 hours, I'm not going to worry myself over it too much yet.

So, back to the watery world of aquatic semi-life. I figure I'll feed them (that always seems to please them) and change their music choice before I go to bed. Then we'll see how they, and Clammy, feel in the morning.
