I don't want to panic my mom, but I'm really upset.
My mom hurt her neck back in August, and workman's comp just NOW okayed her surgery. She is to have surgery Wednsday, December 10th. She is on Gaia as Lady Gallifrey M.
Her injury is the same as John Cena's injury that he just came back from. She has a bulging disc in her neck, and some bone spurs that need to be cleaned out. What they'll do is they'll go in through the front, and clean the spurs out, then fuse part of her neck with a metal plate. The whole thing takes between 2-3 hours, and she might be home by evening.
This whole thing is frustrating. One the one hand, I'm glad, because the surgery will give her back her mobility, and stop the tingling in her arm. On the other, she's my mom, so I'm scared for her. You should know that I don't do very well in hospitals. I can act civil, but doctors scare me.
I'm also extreemely pissed off, since her bosses kept dumping overtime hours and late night shifts on her SINCE the injury, making things much harder on her. She's 44 years old, and hurt, but they treat her like a fast paced slave.
Since my mom is planning on sueing, I won't disclose the company's name. It might not look good. (You know how friendly Google is.) But I will say that it's a retail giant that I no longer shop at. I can't afford it anyways.
Anyway, I'm just looking forward to Thursday, when she'll be home, and I can help her recouperate. I'm still a handful of emotions at the moment though...
