I've never really been allowed to believe in Santa Claus, once a teacher told me about him and my mom fussed at her then set me straight about him. She didn't want me to lose sight of what the holiday was really about. So that's that with me.
But my nieces' mother has been telling them about Santa, filled their heads with it, and then didn't get them anything for Christmas deciding that she was going to wait for the after Christmas sales. So now they are learning rather harshly that there is no Santa, and if there were then Santa's saying that they've been very bad, not even deserving of coal. We are pissed, we didn't know that she was going to do that (we live a state away), we say she should have at least given them one gift it's Christmas after all, giving them something after the day isn't quite the same, it forever tarnishes the day for them.
When next I visit them I'm taking them all some cookies they all seem to love. Eight to ten tins of cookies...man my brother really needs to get fixed.
