Another year has come and gone, and as of writing this, I've been working at Wally World for far too long. The 10% discount is nice, and the other benefits are great, but what really shook my world was getting an entirely new job. Sure, the hours are the same, but the people arent. They b***h and moan about having the hours I've done for the better part of a year. They treat it like a punishment.
C'mon kids, this aint teatime, and this aint ballet. You dont pick your time to work, 'the almighty machine' does. Or management. They're not really forthcoming with that piece of information.
But the meat and potatoes of this column/journal entry/rantbox entry is what happened at the tail end of it -- I finally got to meet her. For only the second time in my life, I've met a Gaian. This one was female, though. And she is probably one of the better things to happen to me.
We did (almost) everything I could have hoped to do, and that was quite a bit. I bought a shitload of games for just under 200 bucks, which isnt bad considering what I actually got. I also met every co-worker she has ever come in contact with. I met the majority of her driving distance family. I think...
Er, anyway...
Let's set the scene a bit - it was the first time we ever met in RL. The first couple of days were really awkward, with barely any hand holding, but we forged the bond that we always had on the phone and on the net. Maybe I'll post pictures later. Maybe not. All I know is that I had an absolute blast. Same time next year, yes?
Maybe sooner?
Time will tell.
Remember, my mostly emo-ridden friends list - life goes on. b***h and moan all you like, but you will most likely awaken with a roof over your head in the morning. I've learned the hard way not to let things get you down. Be it a large truck, angry co-workers, or people threatening me with their shivs (I have my own, ********!), things dont really get me down.
I get most of those pretty regularly, by the way.
New year, HOOOOOOOOO~!
Here's to living the same NY Resolution I've had since I was in middle school - Survive, if it lets you.
