NEIL SANDERSON
Neil Christopher Sanderson (b. December 17, 1978 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada)

Neil Sanderson is the drummer and a founding member of Multi-Platinum selling Canadian rock band Three Days Grace. Forming Groundswell with lead singer Adam Gontier after meeting in high-school in 1992, the band spent years in Peterborough and Norwood, meeting bassist Brad Walst. They renamed the group Three Days Grace and moved to Toronto in 1998.

During Groundswell Neil also played drums in Trevor McNevan's (his cousin) first band called Oddball. Band released the 27-song record Shutterbug in 1995.

In July 2007 when Sanderson and his wife, Janin, were expecting their first child, the band took a break from the tour so that Sanderson would be home. Their child was born on July 28, 2007 and is a girl named Violet.

He lists his influences as Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Tool, Portishead.





Instruments
Neil's Yamaha Oak Custom Kit includes: 24x17 bass drum, 12x9 mounted tom, 16x16 and 18x16 floor toms, and a 14x5.5 snare drum[1] He uses Yamaha Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Evans Drumheads, Vic Firth drumsticks, Gibraltar drum throne, Mountain Ryhthm Djembes as well as singing backing vocals to the Three Days Grace songs.[2]
