Okay I didn't go to the calentines day dance here's my reason.... wait for it.... wait for it... VALENTINES DAY IS SOOOOOOOOO STUPID!!!! I'm sorry, I'm not saying this because my knight in shining armor turned out to be an loser in aluminum foil I'm saying this because its true.
Does anyone stop to think about what St. Valentine would make of it all?
The real St. Valentine, even though not much is known about his life, was a third century martyr who died refusing to deny his belief in Jesus Christ. Is that a good reason to buy your girlfriend flowers? I don't think so. If the poor guy were alive today he'd be turning in his grave.
So, happy unimaginative consumer oriented manipulative and shallow interpretation of romace day!
