--------------------
In an alternate universe, there's an isolated village. The inhabitants are made up of a group of people from all over, and each has words that shouldn't be mentioned.
A ninja. I left my people to die. A child. I don't understand why she left me to fend for myself. A demon. I don't want to be monster. A healer. I have failed as a Child of God. A killer. I didn't mean to kill him, he was so young, so young! A heir. I never wanted to be his child.
The ninja was loyal, but when torn between her heart, and her mind, the world she loved burned to the ground along with her indecision. She was left with only a letter and the burnt remains for her fiance, whom she found was with another female ninja in the village. The letter was an apology saying he no longer wanted her in his life. And because of this, she became a bitter, old-fashion speaking, and cocky feminist, scared to fall in love again.
The child was simple, innocent and loved, until he was left behind by his mother, who sold him to a slave house. He was released, but he had no where else to go. He met a friend along the way, but he was older: a LOT older. Lost in the world, he was then conned out of the only innocence he had left, and left to fend for himself. He closed himself off from the kindness in the world, calling everything and everyone lies.
The demon was a blind, 1/4 demon, 3/4 human. He was raised as a demon, and no matter what the human said, he would eat them all. He was a monster with human intelligence, and he never knew until he found himself eating a little boy, whose last words were, "Daddy, I love you." After seeing such a pure thing die, he was caught between the ideals he was taught by birth, to the things he knew were right. He destroyed the home he was brought up in, and decided to find out who's way was right: humanity's or an demon's?
The healer was the head nun at the main church of the world. She had been brought there as a child, and she worshipped everything the church stood for. But when the church held her back from saving a group of people because they were, "nomadic sinners," and helping a crying demon, she realized that though these people had a reason to cry, "I want to live," she didn't. She thus neutralized herself, and was excommunicated from the church.
The killer was forced to have children, despite the fact he's only a child himself. As a nomad, they never knew when one was going to die, and of what: thieves, disease, an accidental kick to the face by a mule. But one night, the village was attacked by a monster, killing both his wife, and his only son. He was then openly blamed for the murders, and locked up in the royal torture chamber. Out of a drunken misery, he raped another boy, and from this, he was forced to believe maybe he did kill his own family.
The heiress was a spoiled princess to the country this story take place in. She thought she knew everything about her future kingdom: the geography, the people, the economy. But when she watches her father burn down an entire fortress of rebel ninja because he ordered one of the soon-to-be-married men to sleep with another woman, take in an innocent boy, make a drunk man rape him, let a women watch people die before her eyes, and command a blind demon to kill, she realized that, if anyone was the most unknowing, it was her.
