So on Saturday I had agreed to volunteer with my Dad downtown at this event called CPR Saturday. Basically, in this large room different groups of people are taught in different sections about different things. First they had to watch a video, then they took a test, then they would walk through where my dad and I were to learn about "people skills", and then they would go to work on the dummies. In the People Skills part, the people were taught how to take care of 1) a choking victim and 2) a random victim on the ground.
I only got 4 hours of sleep because of my horrible sleeping pattern and the fact that I had to wake up at 4:45 in the morning. We arrive to the place at about 6 am and were able to eat some breakfast first. At first they had just the basic small breakfast food when we got there, but about 30 minutes later they came in with food from McDonalds. After breakfast, when our section was called, we had to go downstairs and prepare for our thing. As a volunteer I had to either escort a group of 8-16 people to a certain box where the instructors were( My Dad was one BTW), line people up so they could be escorted, or count off the groups.
For some strange reason I was surprisingly giddy and happy. I blame the 4 hours of sleep for that. When ever I would wait for the group of people or escort them to a box I would be like prancing and smiling happily while my voice would go up a pitch when ever I spoke to someone. My voice always goes up about a pitch every time I meet someone new, and it sounds nicer.
Anywho, I'd probably have to say lunch was the best part. They had amazing food! It consisted of Panda Express, Subway, Olive Garden, and other such foods. I ended up taking too much food because I started at the beginning and would be like," Ooo a sandwich. . .Oooo bread sticks. . . OMFG PANDA EXPRESS?!" and I would end up taking every good thing I saw. Plus, I ate it all in like 10 minutes! I was stuffed. Then I found they had dessert and I decided to grab more food as well. Time to read off the 4 fortunes I got!
1. There is excitement to be found where ever you go
2. You have found good company - enjoy
3. Invest, but never speculate
4. At this moment, someone is thinking good thoughts of you
I actually got number 2 about 2 years ago when I got some Panda Express with my mom on the 4th of July. It was funny too because I had just ran into Lena a few moments before I read it. Also, when I opened up number 4 I thought," I'd better hope so. . ."
