"Feelings is the one thing that can differentiate a human from a monster."
"Master!"
"What is it?"
The small child ran up to him, and shoved her face into the folds of his yukata. And almost immediately, he knew what was wrong.
"Master!" The child looked at him, small streams of tears rolling off her face. "What's wrong with me?"
He took the face into his hand, and tilted it from side to side. He glanced at her body. No bruises or scratches. Nop bodily harm.
"Master!" She repeated. "I don't understand! Why is there water coming from my eyes? I don't get it, why does it hurt so much? Why why, why-"
He gently rubbed the horns protruding from her head, a kind smille on his face. He remembered that this child's friend had recently moved away to become the next heir to the throne, and didn't get the chace to say goodbye.
"What's happening to me?"
"You're crying, my dear," the girl stopped, her mouth slightly agape. pearly fangs were shinging in the light.
"Kraing?" He nodded.
"Crying."
"B-But... why?" She looked at her palms. "I don't understand! I'm strong, I have no weaknesses-"
"Being sad doesn't mean you're weak," he rubbed her head, "It just makes you human."

Kayoko is a demon living in Feudal Japan. From birth, she was raised as a ninja, a kunoichi (female ninja), by the infamous Lord Oda Nobunaga, otherwise known as the Demon King. Little did most people know, he was, as a matter of fact, a Demon king. And Kayoko was one of his favorite assassins. She protected his people, and other demons from humanity. But he was like a father to her, and treated her with complete kindness.
The Lord was a humanized demon, and often told her to be more humane, in which Kayoko often resisted. She was overly proud of her demonic heritage, and was no afriad to say so. That is, until a recently labeled ronin, whom Nobunaga wanted killed, brought her to her knees.
Enter young Miyamoto: a fiery tempered, fun-loving, and powerful samurai, whom rule-abiding, cube-like Kayoko couldn't help but feel attracted to. But with her first and only failure of a mission, Kayoko is almost commits seppuku in Miyamoto's room. He stops her by coming into her room, completely drunk, and ultimately, falls alseep on top of her.
Thus began their journey of finding the truth of the world, and ends with their hands intertwined.
