Im LOst oVEr YOU I LOst YOU. Im oVEr YOU. I LOVE YOU.
All right. Let me tell you a story; a story about a girl and a boy at a middle school.
The boy was nice, friendly, and overall, he was a great guy, except for a few anger problems, and stubborn streak. All the girls wanted him, a few boys wanted some, and he was admired by his entire school since he was good-looking, polite, and smart. Except for one.
The girl is that one. She was cranky, rude, and a loud mouth. Her mood swings were often and fierce. She's actually a very good person, a bit stubborn and wasn't very good-looking, but very sweet. She has exactly two friends, everyone else hates her. Especially one.
That boy is the one.
The two are constantly going at it, and all of the school is on the boy's side. They tease the girl, make fun of her, exclude her, and create rumours. The girl never cries, and always has a comment to snap back with. Their conversation always began with looks, money, and grades, which were very good.
The boy told her one day, after an intense debate on his, "obsession with outer appearances," that she, "was the ugliest person he had ever had the horror of knowing," and that she, "should go die."
The girl wasn't seen for the rest of middle school. The boy was extremely happy, (or so he thought). The two friends, who had never taken part in the boy and girl's battles, suddenly began glaring at him, and whispering when he was close enough to hear alone, "Murderer," "You murderer."
"Murderer."
"You murderer."
"MURDERER."
One day, he dragged the two friends aside, and asked what the heck was wrong. Their only answer was:
"You killed our friend. Outside AND in."
So the boy searched on the down low. He was popular, no one could know he was searching for his old enemy. He looked, and looked, and looked. But the girl was no where to be found. Her records were gone. After he graduated, the girl still wasn't there, even though her name was called to come to the stage. The girl was gone. Like air, she just disappeared.
But when the boy became a freshman, he saw her: but something was wrong. She wasn't ugly anymore. The girl was beautiful. Beyond words, she was beautiful. The boy was left speechless.
And on top of that, she was quieter, and wasn't so crude. Her eyes were sparkling, and her smile and laugh were musical. As a matter of fact, she seemed... perfect.
So perfect. Too perfect.
He hated it.
The boy tried everything to get her angry, for her to yell at him. But she barely noticed him, and it was like the highest and coldest case of the cold shoulder ever. But he noticed one thing about his presense when she was involved - she would ask too many obvious questions, and trip over herself like she was a klutz. This girl wasn't a klutz at all (she was and is his rival in every sport imaginable) and it was not like her. That, and her friends and herself were ten times closer than before. More secretive.
The boy had to know what had happened to the girl over the year that she was gone. Before she stayed in this fake perfection forever. Before he loses her for good.
That boy is me, Mitchell Bodd.
That girl is Lynette Bowser: the only girl to see right through me from the moment we met.
"Lyn. What happened to you? This isn't the you I know."
"What would you know, Mitch? You never knew me in the first place."
-
Mitch has no idea what to do.
Lyn, the girl he has been mental, physical, and emotional rivals with for the past eleven years, has finally come back from a year-long absense in his life. And honestly, though he'd never admit it out loud, he missed her. HE MISSED HER.
Lynette, Lyn, had to be one of the most obnoxious, rude, hideous, and ungirly figures on this planet before she disappeared. Why would proper, beloved, manly, and handsome Mitch MISS her?
Then again, how could he MISS her when she came back looking like a million dollars? When suddenly, all the guys are looing at her, talking to her, and not MISSING her. How could Mitchell Bodd MISS Lynette Bowser, when he was the only boy looking at her both then and now?
