Little Colorless Leaf (poem)
The old oak tree sways in the wind,
Its colorless leaves
They leave behind
A shaded past.

A foot crunches down,
The colorless leaf
Torn into two
Divided only by you.

The colorless leaf
As it may
Lay along the bay
Of a promising tomorrow.

Staring beyond the horizon,
A much awaited dream.
Lurking behind the horizon,
All that has kept you safe and sound.

When you hear that lonesome crunch,
you have sacrificed much.
You, colorless leaf,
Are quite alone and such.

Find your grace
In such a foresaken place,
And follow your dreams.
Become what you've seen.

In nature we see a rarety,
A human decentcy,
All lost,
Except for in the trees.

The colorless leaf calls out,
For a place
To be kept
Both quiet and safe.

When the winds of change to blow,
The trees stand naked and bare.
But oh that colorless leaf
Looks for a place to call home.

Laying motionless,
Afraid to breathe,
Little colorless leaf just lay and wait,
For however long that may be.

The howling of the wind,
The taste of saltwater,
From eyes to mouth,
You are not alone.

Little colorless leaf,
You're caught up in a tornado.
You may find yourself
Nevermore.

Days will turn to months,
As months fade to years.
The only thought you have -
You know you can't do this on your own.

Someday you will find yourself,
Hidden where you never could imagine.
Stowed away,
A safe place.

Miracles do happen,
Color DOES exist.
Little colorless leaf,
I hope you find your calling.
