Itoko was out running errands for her parents for the first time ever. Well, the first time alone that is. They were alwasy so busy fussing over her and worried that she hadnt taken the right medicine at the right time, etc. And then there were her ears. She could hide her tail pretty easily with skirts and dress, so she wore those all the time. But her ears were much harder to conceal. Maybe that was due to the fact that they were both larger than her hands. The rest of her body was that of a normal 16 year old, almost 17. Her birthday was in a few weeks. She had finally convinced her parents with much argument to let her outta the house.
It was so exhilarating! The fresh air, the colorful display windows on all the shops, the families walking around, and all of this was heightened in pleasure for Itoko because she was not under her parents rules.
She had walked from shop to shop on her parents list, timidly thanking the owners on her way out. And yet, somehow, she had the strange feeling of being followed all day...As if her shadow had grown heavier and she was noticing for the first time...Yet everythime she turned around, there was no trace of a familiar face.
oh well she thought, stopping by the book store before making her trip home. She needed a book to keep her occupied while se was holed up in her room by her parents. Im sure they wont let me outta the house for a long time after this, coming up with fake illnesses...The real reason they hide me inside is because im part mouse and theyre ashamed. I admit to getting some strange looks, but i love being outside....
