Note: Just a quick idea I had to type before I left, haha. Watch, I'll wake up in the middle of the night with another one. I always seem to do that x.X;;
Hazel eyes snapped open. They scanned the perimeter swiftly, and efficiently. They saw nothing, but the body these eyes belonged to felt something. Poking his nose into the head of burgundy hair, he squeezed slightly with a growl. Someone was in the apartment. And that someone had a gun. Getting up from the warm bed was hard, but he had to get Enalise somewhere safe.
“Ena. Ena, wake up!” He whispered harshly, shaking vigorously. The girl groaned softly, and opened a single sandy-colored eye.
“Trace…?” She rubbed come sleep from her eyes, and clutched the covers to shield her body from the cold when she sat up. When she noticed the serious look in his eyes, her conscious came back quickly. “Trace, what’s wrong?”
He didn’t respond. By the time she was beginning to panic, Trace was already shedding the covers off her, and lifting her out of the bed, night gown and all. She squeaked, but Trace covered her mouth, and said softly, “Shh, Dear, you have to be quiet.” He placed her onto the ground where she stumbled a bit. He caught her arm, and continued, “I will explain later, but we have to hurry!” Suddenly, Trace broke out of the room at full speed. Taking a sharp turn to the left, Enalise heard a yell from the kitchen. “The target is escaping!”
Trace paid no heed to the yells - and very loud gunshots - as he continued to run at speeds Enalise had a hard time keeping her feet on the ground. She winced every time a bullet was fired. Trace, using his free right hand, brought out his own weapon, and shot behind him. Enalise heard the sound of a falling body and more screams. Confused and scared, the girl cried out, “Trace! What’s going on?!” But the man ignored her, and continued to run through the large apartment complex.
Completely passing the elevator, Trace opened the door to the staircase, pushed her in, and he closed the door with a slam. He grabbed her hand once again to sprint down the stairs. He picked her up when he realized she couldn’t keep up with his speed down hill, and he said without loss of breath, “Listen, my love,” she had been listening for some time, “I’m going to give you to Dinna for now. He’ll tell you everything you need to know. But for right now, you’re going to have to trust me, and run.”
Her eyes widened. Biting down a plea, Enalise nodded, and gave her teary answer, “All right, but I want you to promise me something. Better yet, two things. Promise me two things.” She flinched when Trace jumped the last bit of stairs.
He continued to race out of the room and into the lobby. “What is it, love?” Trace sped up to whirl through the revolving doors. Enalise clung to his neck, and shut her eyes.
“First, you better tell me what the heck is going on-”
“I told you that Dinna-”
“Yeah, yeah, Dinna will tell me. But I want to hear it from you, Trace.” She tightened her grip around him as he ran down the sidewalk. As he entered the outskirts of town she added, “And the other thing is-”
“Wait a moment, Ena,” he gestured to give him a second as he whipped out a strange black phone she didn’t remember him ever using. He went for speed dial, and said when someone picked up, “Dinna. Code Pirates. Yes, bring the car, not the limo! No, keep the freaking jet in the hanger, and make sure no one touches her! You’re the only one allowed to speak with her, but if you make her unhappy in any f*cking way, I swear- What? Of course she’s going to use my room! Why the hell would she want to sleep in YOUR room? Just come pick her up, I have business to take of at Point AC.” He then proceeded to shut the phone, and turn towards her.
Enalise smiled, and opened her arms. Trace walked into them wearily, and he groaned, “The guys I work with are idiots, Ena-tan*.” She stroked his hair, and dug her face into his head with an ,”I know.” She took a good smell, and hugged him tightly, wondering if this would be the last time she would see her husband. She begged fate that it wouldn’t.
Dinna appeared with a regular Camry when she realized that she might not see him. As Trace pushed her into the car and Dinna was driving away, leaving the ragged man with messed up black hair and a wrinkled dress shirt and sports jacket behind she yelled out from the opened window, “TRACEY GORBLEU AREIGREN, YOU BETTER COME BACK TO ME ALIVE, YOU HEAR ME?! ALIVE.”
Trace simply looked at his disappearing wife with a grin, and he hollered back, “FINE. JUST PROMISE YOU WON’T KILL ME.”
She gave him a huge smile. And replied in a shout, “DEAL.”

* -tan is a form of -chan. It doesn’t mean anything, it just makes it sound baby-ish. It came from D.Gray-Man, just it was used with -sama - EARL-TAMA! ~<3333 IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN D.GRAY.MAN, I DEMAND YOU GO SEE IT. OR READ IT. NOOOOW. YOU WILL LOVE THE TALKING UMBRELLA. BWAH HAHAHAHAHA.
Enalise Coliocroet (Ah - Nah - Leese Coh - Lee - Oh - Kroh - Eht), Ena, was born under a regular family with middle class pay. She figured she would meet some regular middle class guy with a nice family and marry him, and have a plain life. She HATED the idea, but she was looking forward to having a family. Still, she still dreamed of having a life of adventure and thrills and love and action. Making a wish under the ancient Oak tree, Ena wished for a person to come along, and whisk her away. She figured it wouldn’t come true, but it was all right to wish when no one knew you were, right? Well, she was wrong.
Meet Tracey Areigren: an undercover gang boss! And when he first saw Ena, it was like he had been hit by a train (well, actually, it was her car, but hey, we have to add drama SOMEWHERE). Though Trace was unusually unlucky, he has had countless relationships with countless types of women that all ended because he wasn’t attentive enough. Who could blame him when he was always trying to keep his gang life separate from his love life?! Being a boss was hard, and it took up most of his day. And after being dumped by a girl Trace thought was the one, he was debating whether to try again and make it work by working harder, or stop trying altogether.
Now Enalise, on the other hand, has some pretty rare traits on her: hair with a deep shade of crimson, eyes colored an extremely light brown, or maybe just a light cream, skin that doesn’t tan, doesn’t burn, doesn’t absorb any color besides its own, and a natural pink blush that stayed with her even though she’s in her twenties. People unconsciously were attracted to her and her sweet disposition. Even her name is eye catching! But despite these features, most people stayed away from Enalise when it came relationships because of one reason - they said she was cursed. Every time she got hooked up with someone, that person always ended up in a near-fatal, “accident.” No matter what she did, no matter how much she tried to keep them safe, it always happened.
But the moment Enalise and Trace locked eyes, it was like someone had planned their relationship. Trace knew how to avoid things - being clumsy at times - and Enalise was a loyal and very patient girl. But still determined, Trace was stubborn to keep Enalise out of his boss life. But when Trace, otherwise known as Tazzer, is the most notorious gang member in the entire state, and most of the population wants him dead, or behind bars, how can he keep his only weakness safe and away from the life of a gangster?
