First you stop talking, you aren't impolite or rude. You're very polite, but if you aren't spoken to then you don't speak. Why makeup a conversation when it's not worth it? They'll just ignore you... Once you've completed the isolation then you're golden, once you've stopped talking, interacting then what's left is to get rid of your old life, throwing away every memory that you've ever known of them, deleting it all.
Then, you run away and never look back
