Whatever held me back is gone,
My heart now flutters free.
I was saved by God, saved by the One
Who really cares for me.
Whatever beckoned to me is dead.
I now bring myself to pray.
I left my burden, gone from my head,
As I play around today.
Whatever tried to murder my spirit
Is now as far from me as the east from west.
God's voice, I now can truly hear it,
Like a mother bird calling from its nest.
Thank you, God, for saving me.
Thank you, God for setting me free.
