Emily: *is digging through the boxes in the attic*

Lillian: *is stuck in a box with the kitty kitty* Ah!

Emily: *looks over* What's wrong? Are you alright?

Lillian: Mommy! I found a locket in here! Can I haff it?

Emily: *squints* Where did that come from?

Lillian: *opens it up* Look, Arognat kitty kitty! It's a picture of a lady!

Arognat Kitty Kitty: : o

Emily: What does she look like? *picks her daughter up out of the box and puts her on her lap*

Lillian: She's pity!

Emily: *looks at the picture* I don't...know....who that is.

Arognat Kitty: ?! *pounces at the attic door*

Voice: Ah!

Emily: *looks over at the door to see the kitty clinging to Melanie's head* Oh, hello, Melanie.

Melanie: What on Earth are you two doing up here?

Emily: We were going through boxes for the decorations.

Melanie: *climbs up and starts russling through boxes* Oh look! *pulls out a red and gold ornament*

Lillian: Ooooh...

Emily: Oh, that's...

Melanie: That's your first ornament. I remember when Lady Lucille and Master Areux had taken you to pick one out. It was so sweet.

Emily: Yes, well... *takes the ornament and places it back in it's wooden box*

Melanie: You never use it anymore.

Lillian: *looks up at her mama*

Emily: There's a reason for that. One which I'd like to keep personal. *reaches into another box* Christmas photos. *pulls the album out and opens it up*

Lillian: Look! It's Gampa! *point*

Emily: And my mother...and myself...Anton.... : <

Melanie: D8

Lillian: Anton...? Your mama?

Emily: *hugs her* Yes, my mother and your late Uncle Anton.

Lillian: What happened to your mama and why was Uncle Anton late? Who is he anyway?

Emily: They died a long time ago.. It doesn't matter, Melanie mothered us from the time we were tots until now...Your Uncle Anton died shortly after you were born. *sighs*

Lillian: Don't cry, mommy...*puts her hands on her mama's eyes and wipes the tears away*

Emily: *wraps her hand over her daughter's* I'm not cying, sweetheart. Mommy still has you and daddy. <3
