It was a Saturday. The middle of the weekend, the end of the week.
He had gotten over early, we had walked to the local convenience store, I had gotten my favorite ham with bacon with lettuce with pepper in between wheat bread sandwich and he had gotten his clothes from his house, he lived close by.
When going back to my house, we talked of various things, we spoke of the things normal teenagers would. We socialized and got to know each other, and when arriving home she was on her way.
The evening was spent simply wandering the streets. Swinging on swing sets, getting lost in dark blobs called buildings, only guided by dim and broken street lights. I knew the way so easily, I felt like the North star, the guide home.
We spend the middle of the night, a range between midnight and we're too tired to check for the time. All three of us lay on the floor, giggling and sharing our darkest secrets in a game of Truth or Dare, remove the Dare. We talked about sex and love, it was the first time in a while I was honest about it...about any of that, of my confusion, of my habits, of my love.
It was honesty, and that was something I was not used to.
