Witchblade... an anime series about a mother (Masane) and daughter (Rihoko) trying to make it on their own, in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo.
6 years prior to when the series starts, their was a massive earthquake in Japan, which destroyed a large area. Literally underwater. No, I didn't watch this due to the actual recent earthquake in Japan... I wasn't aware that happened in the series. Anyway...
Masane is doing anything she can to get money, to provide for Rihoko, her 6 year old daughter. What does she do? Well... odd jobs. She happened to come in contact with something right after the earthquake in Japan, called the Witchblade. A very powerful weapon that certain people want, but it's kept a secret with the rest of the world.
That's all I'll say about what happens in the series... I highly recommend it. It does contain swearing, partial nudity, blood, gore, explosions, child services, corrupt companies and more.
Again... highly recommended.
Oh and another warning... it's sad.
