what a day
i pull up my hood and put down my head, thinking, "why cant it end yet?" i slowly close my eyes and tune out the noise and yelling from my peers in the cafeteria. suddenly, all the noise stops and i focus on the ticking of my watch, the quiet hypnotizing tick-tock of the second hand. i pretend im back home, in bed, asleep. i slip into a dream-like trance. i dream im with you again, the boy i loved then lost to a horrible fire. i look into your perfect blue-green eyes, oh how i loved the way they sparkled in the light. you look back at me, a gentle smile forms on your lips. were sitting on a beach towel, looking out at the retreating tide, the setting sun, the screeching sea birds. you pull me close, my heart races. "close your eyes." you whisper in your smooth, deep voice. i blush and close my eyes, knowing what comes next. you and i lean towards each other and then i...RING-A-LING!!!! the bell rings, lunch is over.
