The air was cold, still and silent… The two blondes continued their steps forward, an unnatural movement of rocks happening to one side of them, Alex's eyes shifted to the rocks; then more on the other; Alexus' eyes moved there. So… What now? Their wands were gripped tightly as they continued their steps trying not to seem suspicious of the movement. A shadow flashed before them, across the street… Ash was swept up and the rocks shifted a little more. They didn't turn to look, but they could feel eyes on them, watching their every move…
A whisper filled the air, but the words inaudible… It was unnerving, really. And caused Alexus to step a little closer to Alex, her wand readied for anything at this point, his was the same. What would happen? She wondered, shifting her eyes back straight ahead. Her lips parted to speak, but she was soon sent spiralling through the air; how had neither heard the shot? Alex turned quickly on his toes and let a red light be shot off in the direction the shot had come from; the rocks being blasted to the side to show the form of a dark-cloaked figure. More came out from the sides of the street, soon a wall of them surrounded the two blondes. "… Lexi?" he called backwards.
The blonde female was standing then, struggling to her feet, wiping her face a bit with her right hand, "I'm fine… I'd barely call that a spell." the wand in her left being flicked forward with a flash, and that's when it started. The two were brought in to being back-to back, each looking at the cloaked figures. "Expulso!" she called; the ground before a few of them, exploding and sending them back in the blast along with the asphalt. "Impendimenta!" the male called right after, pushing a few more back, as others were stopped in their tracks; however they could still cast spells, which was a problem.
Lights flashed every-which-way, different spells being cast at the opposing teams, Alex and Alexus, against about eight witches or wizards, all of them, more skilled than the next. Defending one another and attacking their own, the two blondes were forced in the end, to kill or be killed… Neither of them had wanted to, however it was how it was… "Confringo!" Alexus called, two men coming toward her, bursting into flames, at the same time, "Obtestor Pugionibus! Oppugno!" conjured knives flew forward, toward more of the dark figures. Sure, they would kill the others, but they seemed to be taking non-lethal blows at their opponents… That was, until one fateful spell was cast. "CRUCIO~!!!" followed by the most sinister laugh one could think of; Alexus was sent to the ground, screaming in pain. Tears near instantly falling from her tightly closed eyes, she curled into a small ball, but it was followed by her friend's voice; the only thing she seemed to hear; "Avada Kedavra!" Her vision went dark after hearing that; and the area around her went silent in her mind. Had the Cruciatus Curse been strong enough just then, to kill her so quickly without the torture? No; she was still being tortured under the curses' lingering effects… She could still feel that pain, even in her state of nothingness, the pain still lingered there, so heavy that she could never explain it to someone…
Alex, kept his ground at Alexus' side. His eyes like icy daggers, "Protego Horribilis…" he uttered as his wand went toward Alexus, then out toward the others around them; "Sectumsempra!" and blood spewed out from another, then another. Spells being deflected as they were cast at him, only one actually hitting, an Expelliarmus spell. It was after this, that Alex, too, was brought to the ground with a Cruciatus Curse. However before he too, had been put to the darkness as his friend had; two voices could be heard. "Alexus?! Ugh.. You all sicken me…" then an offensive 'hah!'. "They will be alright, focus on protecting them!" And various flashes filled the area once more after a quick; "It's the Mudbloods! Get 'em!"
'I am… supposed to protect you…'
'You came… I knew… I knew you weren't gone…"
