I had a lot of fun this year. The thrill of finding the elusive word, the heart pounding terror at not making to the goal, the interesting people found on the forums. I didn't reach the goal of 50,000 words this year, and it's the third, fourth time I have been in NaNo. Yet, I am proud of my accomplishment. I had reached an all time high word count... well not really since I do have a couple of fanfictions past that amount of words, but for my NaNos it's a high.
What have I learnt? That I really got bored with trying to write in dialect for the pirate characters. I also had problems trying to show instead of telling since this is still a first draft.
I am going to stick to this story even though NaNo is over. I have been trying to write it for years, and I know that I can get it done. It's just trying to stay with it and to tell myself that yes, I can write.
Can we say arrrg?
