Silence came after the speech. A couple hours, at least… Complete silence, save the murmurs of those who were tending the wounded, and the groans of pain from those being treated. Alexus and Aiden were sitting on the stairs, in front of the podium while Alex and Tomas helped tend to the students who needed it. The blonde's head was rested in her hands, hung with her elbows rested on her knees. They had been helping earlier, but she needed to clear her head and actually think. What could they do to actually help? Sure, Alexus had a bit of information that others didn't, but she couldn't be sure of that information. She couldn't just give out information that would be so crucial like that, just to have it be false. It was bothering her to no end, for sure. She couldn't take it… Those sapphire hues were locked on the stone flooring of the Great Hall, and she felt a hand come up to her shoulder. "Look… We'll figure something out, alright..?" "We can't wait. We need to-" her head snapped up, and her eyes went straight to the door, before a loud crash came into it. Small chips of wood came off the edges of the large doors, and Alexus was at her feet near instantly, Aiden at her side with each movement. What was it..? And why was it there? How had it hit those doors with enough force to chip the wood like that, with all the warding spells cast around the room..? She didn't like the feeling she got from the situation, but it had broken the silence, while at the same time, caused even more.
The students backed away from the door a bit, a few taking their wands out again, and while Tomas hurried to finish helping one of the students, Alex went to Dimitrius' side, and cast more warding spells around the door; since that seemed to be their focal point for entry. "Alex, the windows!" came a call from Tomas, and a couple shattered, though the warding spells were holding them on the sills for a moment; it was shown, however, that they would get through soon enough… "I… I will get help! "… Yes, me too!" and with that, the two wands went up, flashes of a pale blue, nearly white, filled the areas of which they stood, and two animals, shot off through the wards and out the windows quickly.
A laugh rang through the room, as the students gathered near the centre, all with their wands toward the windows and doors, a look of determination on their faces. A few blasts came at the wards, and in retaliation, spells flew out through the ward at those waiting to enter the Great Hall, in the windows. It was frightening, no one could deny, but they would hold their ground there… "I feel so helpless…" "Don't worry. We'll get through." Though Alexus had a fairly hard time believing that, she nodded and looked around. The Patronuses had left a while ago now… They were at a stand still; though the wards were slowly being beaten down with countering spells… Those upholding the barriers wouldn't be able to forever, and everyone knew it. "Where are.."
"Hope we aren't too late for the party!" came a familiar voice; as a group of people; one after the other, started coming in, via apparition. "I'd hate to miss it." "Nah, looks like they're just starting!" Of course, a grin on both of their faces… "Oh good… I never did like being late for parties." "Though it seems we've got some unwelcome guests." So, that was four; surely there would be more? There had to be… Perhaps they would just have to wait… "Ah, good! You got my message." "Yes, I thought I'd speed up the process by sending my own. More should be on the way." Alice's eyes locked on Quin then with a silent thanks within them. He just smiled, and nodded. It was then, that another bang on the door rang out clear, through the room, and visible breaks in the barriers came to be. The lot of them, along with the students readied themselves more than before, the smiles, smirks and grins being wiped off their faces as finally, the wards took too much. The door came in with a blast, though Protega spells were cast quickly by most everyone to deflect the debris from hitting anyone.
It was a bit of a surprise, however, when the door was crowded with a group of dark-cloaked people falling to the floor; "I'm sorry we're late~" came the sweet voice of Etsuko, followed by the giggle of Amalia "Yes, I apologize~" and Chris stood before both of them, his cane in hand, a smirk on his lips "Hope that wasn't too much of an entrance for you." The others shook their heads in reply; no entrance could be too big at the moment… Not if it were reinforcements coming to their aid. However, there was no time for greetings much more than that. In fact, before they had even finished talking, the trio had entered the great hall, past the Dark Ones who had fallen in the door way. Were they dead? Not likely… But if they gave any more reason to be, they would be.
The Great Hall was lit up brightly by flashes of different colours; had it not been such a dire situation, it would've been wonderful to sit and watch. Like fireworks being set off, for all to enjoy… However no one was enjoying these fireworks. The explosions of colour were sent with intent to kill in most cases. Others to protect. It was a horrible thought, but it was truth. Nothing was going to end well here… It didn't seem like it would anyways. "Oh my my my~ What have we here? Some long-lost snakes, and their little badger friends; three little ravens, and the lone lion..? Why it's SO GOOD to see you all again~! After all this time!
The voice… That voice had been all too familiar. Alexus had stopped in her place, her wand up at the cloaked figure, a frown apparent on her face. "So, you've come." "And why wouldn't I?! The looks on all your pathetic faces is just too good to pass up~!" it was then that her hood came down, and pale brown eyes looked to the Malfoy; "Tell me Cousin… Why is it that you protect these Filthy Mudbloods?!"
