Medea Lestrange found her way farther into the Great hall, several others falling in through the windows and a few more from behind Christopher, Etsuko and Amalia(and Ignacius, who happened to be held in one of the blonde's arms, of course, the other holding her wand). The trio went into the room with the others, as Medea just let out a haunting laughter that filled the room. Her deep brown eyes glaring down at the group, focused on a few people in particular. Those who she had gone to school with, of course. But mostly Alexus. Her beloved cousin, who had never helped her when she needed it…
"So? Why is it?!" "They're my friends!" Alexus retorted quickly, not much thought put into the answer. "Friends… Your friends! Hah! Right… Of course, how could I have been so blind…?" she asked, placing a hand to her head, her eyes closing. She jumped down from the window sill, casting a charm on herself to break her fall and land lightly on the stone below, stepping closer. "My my, what a rabble. And you call them friends. the Mudbloods, and traitors. I guess that makes you a traitor too, doesn't it, Cousin?" Alexus went silent then, looking away from the crazed woman before them. "You wouldn't know… What friendship really is." she started, shaking her head slightly "I didn't for the longest time… But then I met these people. My friends. Half-blood, muggle born or not. They are all still just as human as you and me." Medea's face was taken over then, by a look of disgust. She hummed a bit and looked over the group before raising her wand, "You'll die like them then, traitor!" and with that; her spell was cast, the bright red light came forth from the end of her wand, as the Cruciatus Curse was sent hurling toward her cousin. Alexus however, had managed to cast a rather strong shielding spell just in time, with the help of a few others to protect not only her, but those around her.
Sapphire eyes narrowed at the messy-haired Lestrange, and lightly-painted lips curled down into a determined frown. The blonde, just staring at her cousin now, silent. "You don't get it at all… Do you?" "We may just have to show her the true meaning of friendship." "It may just be the only way she'll get it through that thick skull of hers." "You're going to get us killed, aren't you..?" "Of course not~ Ryker might though." "What? Hey!" "Lively now! Eyes open~" It was with that, which Quin had started casting, Ryker and Wyatt shortly after with a little hesitation from basil… the look in his eyes, more "We're going to die" than anything, but it was soon replaced with determination, as his wand rose as well. Alice joined in quickly, Tomas, Aiden, Alex, and finally Alexus joined. Christopher did his best, Amalia and Etsuko as well, even.
Amalia smiled a bit, as she placed Ignacius to the floor, and for once, the Engorgio spell cast upon him, was from Christopher. Though the look in the former Gryffindor's eyes was that of terror as the Fire-Crab grew in size, he just looked away and kept his mind on other matters. She commanded him easily enough, with a quick "Only the ones who look evil, okay~?" and with a hiss, he opened his mouth, and the fire consumed a few of the dark-robed witches and wizards that had come through the windows. She smiled and nodded, then let her own wand come up and at-the-ready as a spell was sent her way, she deflected it, casting her own. Etsuko had never been one for violence; then again, neither had many of the others fighting. Amalia included, despite her encouragement for Ignacius taking part in this fight after all she'd taught him. However, the former Ravenclaw let her wand take control as spells were sent out; mostly supportive spells. Expelliarmus, Protega Maxima, and the like. It was helpful enough, that's for sure. She may not have been attacking with more than disarming spells, but she was a help, no less. "Hey, get that Fire-Crab out of here!" Amalia's eyes glared toward the voice as a stunning spell was sent forward, and she attacked a few others who had attempted to take down Ignacius, and he took care of the rest. After all, Amalia could never actually harm someone… But Iggy could~
Alexus, on the other hand, was face-to-face with Medea, wands flying every-which-way with attacks and shields being tossed around, help from others on both sides coming in on occasion; "Medea, come on! Get a hold of your mind! Is this really-.. Ah, is this really what you want?!" "This is all I could dream of~ My father's free, too… Didn't you hear~?" Alexus' eyes widened a bit; "You opened an escape from Azkaban…?" "Where do you think all these people came from, my Dear, sweet Cousin~?" the crazed witch asked, a loud cackle erupting from her; "You know they aren't as bad as some would think~" "They're insane!" she retorted; another spell her cousin's way; that's when Medea's mother and father both, however, took the younger female's side, looks of disapproval in their eyes. "I…" "ALEXUS!" Aiden yelled, appearing at her side quickly, both throwing up shields as all three Lestranges threw out spells at them.
The cats had found fights of their own, along with the others, however above all the noise… all the destruction, and yelling… Was a blood curdling scream of a single name; "IGNACIUS!!" Etsuko's eyes shot over just in time to see the sparks of magic come forth from Amalia's wand as she let out her spell at who had killed Ignacius, and then her own voice rang out; "AMALIA, NO!!" tears instantly in her eyes as the green lightning bolt magic had reached the blonde, she went to run, but Christopher had reached out and grabbed Etsuko's arm. She fought against him and had accidentally kicked his cane out from under him; he managed to stay standing and even pull Etsuko closer to him as she did, but her wand was up, and with teary emerald eyes she cried out that spell; "AVADA KEDAVRA!" the green bolts came forth from the former Ravenclaw's wand, and shot past the body of Amalia which was still falling to the ground; everything seemed to be slow motion in that instant. She screamed once more, bending over, as Chris put his arms around her waist, pulling her back so she didn't run forward into the mess without a clear mind, and tears streamed down her cheeks as she cried out for Amalia, her hand reaching up and taking a hold of that cork necklace she had never taken off, since they met in their first year at Hogwarts.
The room seemed to be silent after that, to her at least; others were busy putting protection spells over her and chris as he continued to just hold her there, keeping her from going over to Amalia's side just yet.
Time flowed and eventually, the Dark Ones tired of battle; they had shrunk in numbers, those of Hogwarts, had as well, but one in particular seemed to have the elders of the battle at a loss for action, words… Everything. The shields had been let down after a while; but the wards on the room remained raised by those capable of casting still. "Are you alright…?" "I'm… I'm fine… Just a scratch. hah~" "Come on, let me heal you up some…" "Ah… Thanks, Tomas…"
Etsuko and Christopher had made their way over to Amalia's body, Christopher, simply standing there, looking down at the girl, and the fellow Ravenclaw, curled over her body, sobbing heavily, asking her to wake up.
Quin, Ryker, Wyatt and Basil made their way over to Etsuko, Amalia and Chris then, bowing slightly in respect. "I uh…" "We're sorry for your loss, Etsuko." The others didn't speak, not that Ryker had really said much anyways, but Wyatt and Basil had remained silent; the silence filled the area after Quin spoke, save for Etsuko's sobs, muttering requests for her friend to wake up. "She appreciates it, I'm sure, guys." They all just kind of nodded in response at different times.
It was then that Etsuko raised her head from Amalia's torso then and turned to face the others. "A… A-Ama… Always wanted to be burried near the Thestrals…" she said softly. They nodded in response to her, understandingly and Chris held out a hand toward Etsuko, helping her to her feet. Wyatt reached down then, and picked up Amalia, and they, along with many others who knew the former Ravenclaw, had gone with them; Ryker, casting Reducio on Ignacius' also lifeless shell and body, picking him up as well, taking the two of them toward the forest, near the lake. Time passed, as a few people dug down in the fresh land, and laid the two together; Amalia and Ignacius. Etsuko, along with many of the others, shedding seemingly never-ending tears as they buried her. "She was… a good girl." Wyatt stated; "Yeah…" Basil finally spoke, taking a few flowers he'd found near-by, holding them over to Etsuko. The woman took the flowers and forced a faint smile, placing them down on the mound of earth, taking a seat next to it after doing so. More time passed… Most of the others left… Etsuko and Chris remained. The others had gone to look after the students of Hogwarts. "We should head back soon." "Just a little longer?" Chris nodded silently in reply, as Etsuko sat at that grave; her hand petting the nose of a Thestral gently. "Just… a little longer…"
