To get the farmable components for Philosopher's Cache and such, you should go to these places:
1) Village Greens in zOMG: kill lawn gnomes for branches, screws, and wing tree leaf; kill flamingos for plastic and flaming feathers; both give charge orbs (for Orb Aggregate) and gold, too.
2) Bass'ken Lake in Fishing: best rod is Strength Plus because the fish you want aren't far out, and use the cheapest bait to get guppies, bubble-eyed goldfish, big old tires, boots, and cans. You can also sell any bigger fish you get.
3) Towns, any hour: buy a bug net and a trowel first, then go at night for the blue papers and flowers, at day for the white/green papers and flowers, and at dawn and dusk (6 to 8 am or pm) for the red/gold papers and flowers and the ever-wanted Old Crumpled Newspapers. Bugs are around sometimes, with similar color patterns for the hour of day.
4) Games: Cards to turn tokens to tickets, Word Bump to get Bachelor's Credits.
