Just a quick note before I go to bed. I've been cleaning like crazy, this past week. My main concern was to get the back in some kind of order, to make the dining room a sitting room once more, and to get the kitchen ready for cooking. The kitchen remains untouched, but I'm pleased with what's been done.
Last week, we spent hours in the back, going through the mass of things that have been there for at least a decade. We did not toss anything but the obvious trash, then re-stacked and mopped, before moving on to bag and re-stack the rest of the clothes along the wall. I told my mother that this is nothing more than a short term fix, after Easter, we really do need to go through these things and let some, if not most, go.
The majority of the clothes covering the chairs and table have been moved to the back, and I've cleaned under the chairs and along the wall. I've knocked down the spider webs and changed the light bulb(s), and even reconnected the tv in the room to the cable. Among all that, I found my game boy! I haven't seen it in maybe 3 years, I thought it was still in my room.
I think tomorrow, Amanda will have to start cleaning the kitchen without me, but as I've said before, I'm pleased. To be able to sit in comfort in the half of the room that has long been occupied by things, is so nice.
