that not only is Gaia suffering from a lack of active people aka Gaians compared to the past, but also a lack of active moderators. I've reported someone numerous times for racist type remarks, but it doesn't even matter.
For one, I'm not the cyber police, my job is not to have to go around reporting people, that's the moderators job. I'm not a tattler, so the only time I ever report anyone is when they make blatant racist type of remarks that violates the ToS.
Secondly, why are people allowed to have all of these extremely vulgar usernames, Avis, and posts, I thought that was against ToS? Perhaps things really have changed, I mean I know the CB (Chatterbox) and GD (General Discussion) has always been full of trolls, but I don't remember it ever being as bad as it is today...
I know many of us ARE adults and all, but there's still young teens who frequent this site. Isn't there something that can be done? can't Gaia put a filter on the usernames or something? Why is the sole responsibility of reporting people placed on the members hands?
I'm not against certain topics perse, but a user can still talk about certain things without being so vulgar. Guhhh vulgarity is another HUGE Pet Peeve for me. I just try to mind my business and scroll on by, but it's just trashy and immature, and it's getting old.
I'm not a moderator, I don't get paid for reporting, in fact I'm the one paying Gaia monthly as a Wing Supporter. My job is not to babysit everyone, this should be a safe environment for EVERYONE, and nobody should ever have to feel forced or coerced into doing the moderators job.
I used to be a moderator for a few sites, of course I didn't mind when people reported others, but I never expected them to, why? because I did my job, when I was on I was busy patrolling each forum section, no excuses.
I'm a member, I don't mind reporting baddies, but as a member I also expect more from the mods.
I really don't know what more I can say... Ugh...
