someone asked about magic in the story, so i suppose i'll copy the content of my PM here as it might be helpful
Mmm, I don't know if there's a lot to say about the nature of magic in here, but I can name a few that might help:
- They have: light magic, dark magic, elemental magic. The power source of respective type differs. Light magic came from the realm of gods ("Upper Realm" , it's a lesser divine power. Dark magic came from Underworld--practically "hell". Elemental magic came from human realm.
- Because the power sources are conflicting, light and dark magic reacts greatly against each other.
- Also, because the power sources derived from non-human realms, the owner of the power has their physical nature slightly altered (to enable them to contain that power). While they have no effect on elemental wizards, the conflicting natures of light and dark magic owners does affect each other. The touch of dark wizard feels like frostbite to light wizard, while light wizard's feels like sunburn to dark wizard. This does not give actual physical damage, only unpleasant pain.
- The order of power magnitude goes: Light > Dark > Elemental.
---- Light magic is the strongest in nature, but also the most restrictive in application. It's only good for protective and healing magic, and the owner will absolutely not able to perform any sort of dark magic. Attacking spells are weak, but this is the only type of magic that allows the owner to perform telepathy. This magic type is rare.
---- Dark magic is the second strongest in nature, and the wizards are very well-known for the high speed of spell-casting. It cannot perform any protective or healing magic, but it allows the owner to perform teleportation, jinxes and curses, and (rarely) necromancy. This magic type is considerably rare, and most of them came from Albanus and Zana.
---- Elemental magic is the most common type of magic. It's divided into four elements: water, fire, earth, and wind. Although much less impressive in power magnitude, this type of magic enables the owner to perform any kind of magic.
