We visited my best friend and her husband yesterday. We went to the Music and Art festival in Rhode Island. It was a really good time. If you ever have a chance to go, do so. We stayed over and got home mid-afternoon today. It was a warm day, so we were able to get in a bit of swimming and paddle boarding before dinner. It was a very nice weekend.
At first I didn’t want to go, but in the end I’m glad we did. I’ve had a group of friends visiting from Ireland for the past couple of weeks and they left on Friday. Because I took some time off to go to Maine in August, I only took a week off work, so the second week was a bit more challenging. It’s been a blast, but I’m tired. I’m glad to have peace and quiet back in the house.
It’s been an excellent Summer albeit, a busy one. I’m enjoying the new house and have entertained and had people stay over often. I’m looking forward to a more relaxed Fall. I live in a beach community and this is the best time of year. The days are still warm and the nights are cool enough to enjoy the fireplace. The tourists have gone, so traffic is back to normal and the stores aren’t packed. The water is still warm enough to swim or paddle board daily. I intend to enjoy it to the fullest.
We had so many interesting conversations over the past two weeks, which have fueled many ideas for the journal. Now however, it’s time for bed. I can’t keep my eyes open. I hope you all rest well. 😴 💤 🛏
