granny is staying with us
yesterday evening granny's power went out. her water had also froze the day before, which is not great but she was okay without water. the power going out was a much bigger deal though, because the outside temperature was still below freezing. dad went and picked her up. it has been nice spending more time with her. we have not really done much, just hang around the house and watch reruns of old game shows from the 50s - 70s. while we were watching tv, kramer (one of my cats) brought a live mouse (a huge mouse, it might be a small rat) inside and let it go in the kitchen. kramer cornered the mouse but was just playing with it. i felt really bad, the mouse was terrified. me and granny were running around like idiots trying to find something to trap or pick up the mouse. the mouse eventually ran under the fridge, then under the stove. at this point ry heard us and came to see what all the noise was about. we pulled out the drawer below the stove and there was the mouse, but he ran behind the cabinets. i decided to put a trap under the stove... i hate to kill any living creature, but i do not want a mouse inside of my house chewing things and pooping and peeing on everything.
