Javert was so embarressed by that incident. The other prison guards would not let him down, calling him 'Con Lover' and other degrading things like that. That is why he happily took up the assignment of catching Valjean. To make that idiot apologize!
Based off the first five minutes of the musical. I am no way a sacriligeshipper anyway, shape or form. I'm pretty sure that Patron-Minette didn't exist during Valjean's free! part of the book, but they do for now.
