Guide to gold making
Their are many ways of making gold, on Gaia.

• Posting on forums
• Browsing Gaia
• Selling your daily chance items
• Gathering trash/bugs/flowers in towns and selling them
• Playing games
• Voting/Commenting in the avi arena
• Posting in your journal
• Commenting on profiles
• Drawing avatar art
• Designing and coding profiles

First ____ Bonus! - Your first forum, journal, profile comment, avatar arena vote and avatar arena comment post, all give you a bonus, for your first one of the day. The first post could get you up to 50 gold (depends on which one you do) and works its way down, from there. I highly recommend doing all of the above, if you're in need of gold.

Can't think of what to post in a forum, to get the gold? Then just find someone's quest thread and bump it for them. You get gold, while helping someone out. wink

Daily Chance - For some reason, some people dislike the daily chance. It has a possibility that you get 250 gold or even an item that sells for 100+ gold. You could even get ink, which is required to get tattoos (unless you buy them off the MP). What's not to like about that? Take your daily chance items and either use them or sell them, on the marketplace. Even if the item is only worth 1 gold, that's 1 gold more than you had before.

If you don't need or want some of the daily chance items, even to sell, then find a user who would be happy to take them off your hands. Lots of people collect flowers, trash, etc., so instead of not doing the daily chance, do it and help someone out.

Games - Their are a few games on Gaia:

Word bump - Make words and get Bachelor's credits. You can either keep them, to exchange for the graduation items or sell them on the marketplace.

Jigsaw - The puzzles are a good way to make money. Don't have time to sit and do one? Thats fine. Puzzles allow you to save your progress, to continue the same one, later. Puzzles don't have a set gold reward (I believe it's determined on how fast you complete the puzzle, though I'm not 100% sure on this), but you do have a chance at getting an item, along with the gold. The down side to puzzles is that after you've done a few, you won't be rewarded much gold.

Slots - In slots, you don't win gold. Instead you win "winnings", which can be exchanged for tickets, when you're done playing. Slots isn't the idle game, if you want to make gold quick. The odds of winning the big bucks, is rather slim, so I recommend against playing it.

Cards - Like slots, cards rewards you with "winnings", which can be exchanged for tickets. Cards, in my opinion, is the ideal game to play, if you're trying to get tickets. Reason being, you have a higher chance of beating one of the card dealers, rather than hitting big winnings in slots. Point of cards, is to get the closest to 21, without going over. After you beat each opponent, they give you free tickets, which could replace any loses you had, against them. The dealers:

• Dealer #1: He has a cheat called Pocket Ace. With this cheat he can grab an ace to add to his hand. If you beat him, he'll give you 25 tickets.

• Dealer #2: She can use a cheat called Fresh Start. Fresh Start gives her a new hand, which she can hit on. This can either be good or bad. She has a chance of drawing a blackjack, as with any hand. If you beat her, she'll give you 50 tickets.

• Dealer #3: He can use both the Fresh Start cheat and Pocket Ace. If you beat him, he'll give you 100 tickets.

Tips:

• Don't use your cheat, if the dealer has a cheat. If they use Fresh Start, then your cheat would have been wasted.

• Once the dealer reaches 17+, they won't hit again. I recommend doing the same, unless you know for a fact that they have a higher hand than you.

• You have access to 2 cheats. Peek allows you to see the dealer's face down card. Redraw makes the dealer redraw. I recommend only having them redraw, if you have a strong feeling they have a blackjack or else you could end up giving them a blackjack.

Fishing - In order to fish, you need to buy a fishing rod and bait. Because of that, I personally haven't gotten into it, so I don't know how profitable it can be.

Rally - It gives no prizes. Feel free to play for fun, but you won't earn anything from playing it.

Avatar Arena - The avatar arena can be a rather cruel place, where people get very picky or just rate 1's, trying to make their own entry to win. If you win 1st place, you win 50k gold.

Other than entering the avatar arena, possibly wasting 1k gold, you can also comment and rate entries. When commenting, try to be helpful to the user, telling them how to make the avatar better.

Drawing Avatar Art - Have some drawing talent? Then this might be the easiest way for you to earn gold. Depending on the quality of the art, you could get a few thousand, per drawing. Avatar art is possibly the 2nd best way, to earn gold, imo.

Can't think of how much to charge? I recommend doing avatar art of your own avatar and then asking other people who draw avatar art, what they think you should charge.

Know CSS? - People who code and design profiles, could make more than some avatar art makers. I've seen profile makers get 20k+ per profile. Of course, with more and more people learning how to do CSS coding, the price of these will probably go down. As for now, I think this is the #1 best way to make gold.

Marketplace - Due to the MP 3.0 having a 2% selling fee (everything you sell gets 2% removed. For example, if you sell an item for 500k, you only get 490k), it's slightly more difficult to make a profit off of the marketplace. I suggest you have a calculator or be good with math, when trying to profit off of the MP.

In the old MP, it was simple to gain profit. Buy an item, for say 10k and sell it for 10k+. The new marketplace requires you to know how much 2% of the price you set the item at is. As in the previous example, a 500k valued item would get you 490k. 10k is 2% of 500k. To make profit off of this, you'll need to sell the item for 510k+.

Original item value + 2% selling fee = what you should sell it at, to make profit.

It's not too difficult to do really, just requires some math. It's good to have an advanced calculator handy or one that can subtract %. Though if you know how to convert percents into decimals, I suppose it could be just as easy.

For Mac Users: The Calculator application should be in your applications folder. Open it and go to the "view" menu and select "advanced".

Say you want to try to make a profit off of a Chyaku Norisu Scarf that's priced at 117,995.
Input the following into the Calculator:

117,995 + 2% = 120,354.9
After you enter 2%, be sure you hit the equal key or you'll just see what 2% of 117,995 is.
Be sure to round up the total, if it has a decimal.

The price you need to resell it at would be more than 120,355. You should sell it for more than that, because if you resell it for exactly 120,335, then you will just be back to what you had before you bought it.

For Windows Users: Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> Calculator
The Windows calculator apparently doesn't have a % key, so you'll need to use different directions. In place of the +2%, like with the Mac calculator, you'll need to multiply the original price by 1.02.

Using the same example as above, but with the Windows calculator:

117,995 * 1.02 = 120,354.9
Be sure to round up the total, if it has a decimal.

The price you need to resell it at would be more than 120,355. You should sell it for more than that, because if you resell it for exactly 120,335, then you will just be back to what you had before you bought it.

Depending on the price of the other items on the market, you could mark yours up by 100 or more gold. Yes, 100 gold is basically nothing, but do it enough times and it adds up. I personally go for about 300+ gold profit per sale. Sometimes more, if I know I can get that price.

Marketplace Tips:

• Do not invest all of your gold into a single item. Example: I bought 7 Studded Leather Collars for ~90k, to sell off at a higher value. They ended up falling in value (down to around 70-80k), after new items came out.
• Try to keep an x amount of gold on you, in case you see a very low priced item that you can profit off of easily. This may vary, depending on your wish list and item(s) you're keeping an eye on.

Hopefully that made sense to everyone. Enjoy making more gold. wink
