What do you do with a girl like that? |

How confusing life can possibly become seems to constantly want to prove to me that I ain't seen nothing yet. Things are mostly crystal clear. But then there's this giant grey spot surrounding Andi and Daniel.
Andi's getting married.
As in "'Til Death do us part forever and ever, amen." married.
Yeah.
And I really am happy for her, and I still love her, but she didn't even have the nads to tell Daniel. She knew she needed to, and I told her she should, but she claimed that he didn't need to know, and she had no responsibility to tell him herself. She can be so immature sometimes, I honestly want to strangle her. It irritates me how at times she can be so sensitive and caring of a person and then a few days later she's a selfish little child again. That's what she'll always be to me. That little girl that sat under a porch and ate clover with me, and we called them pickles and strawberries. It seems like just yesterday that we were riding in Deidra's Barbie Jeep and raking the grass, playing baseball with Donita and swimming in the kiddie pool. I kind of am in denial I guess. It's hard to picture Andi walking down the aisle to her tattooed and black-haired fiance and coming back down the aisle as Andrionna Makia-Lei Wheeldon. After all of her talk about marrying Daniel, after all of her talk about marrying Chris, she's marrying someone she met a month ago in a parking lot.
I remember that night. I had called Andi earlier that day and told her I needed a ride to the football game because my family was going to the baseball game. She came over and invaded my house without asking. She stole a grapefruit and we threw it around before getting in her car and heading out. She had seen a loose Dead End road sign earlier while she was driving, so she pulled up alongside it and I hopped out of the car. I picked up the sign and tried to shove it into the back seat, but it barely fit and you could see the sign from behind, so we drove a little ways to Kristin's old house and I moved the sign to the trunk. We went to Daniel's house to pick him up. We told him to put his stuff in the trunk so he would see the sign. He laughed that laugh of his, and hopped in the side. We recounted the theft on the way to the Middle School band room, and proceeded to get ready for the game. They talked all during the game, and afterwards, we went back to the band room and changed into our street clothes. We gathered all our crap and headed to Andi's car. We crossed the parking lot and Jenny's boyfriend was leaning up against his car. Next to him stood Casey. We stopped to talk to the two of them, and Andi got caught up in a discussion. Daniel, still not quite over thier most recent in a string of breakups, got angry with her over her openness in hitting on Casey, and started going toward Andi's car. I got her keys from her, and followed him since he wouldn't be able to get into the car without them. He was leaning against the trunk, and I unlocked it. We both threw our stuff on top of the sign and climbed into the car. It was still hot outside at this point, so I turned on the car and the air conditioning. He wanted to put in music and so we picked a CD and I tried and failed to put it into the car CD player, so he had to do it. With the music taken care of, I brought up why he had stormed off. He said it ticked him off that Andi had been hitting on Casey so much when she knew he was right there and he wouldn't like it, and we had a brief discussion about relationship issues. By the end, we were both pretty pissed off at Andi, and I got the bright idea to drive off in her car. When you don't even have a learner's permit and the most driving you've ever done is pulling the car out of the driveway, this is a daring thing. I put the car in reverse and was about to back out when Daniel put the car back in park and took the keys. He got out of the car and went to tell Andi that he needed to be home early. She and Casey had already exchanged phone numbers, and she reluctantly took the keys and went to the car. She dropped him off at his house after a silent ride, and then we began driving toward my house. She asked me what we had talked about, and I told her. She said Daniel needed to get over her, and dropped me off before heading to laser tag with Austin. On Monday, I found out she had spent most of Sunday with Casey. She didn't find out for a week or two that Casey and Daniel were cousins. A month later, she won't even tell Daniel that she's getting married.
What was I supposed to do?
I told him.
And I'm afraid the results will be bad.
But she shouldn't be marrying his cousin. It's messed up. She toys with his heart for years, then meets his cousin at random and is engaged after a month? No. That's not right.
But what am I supposed to do about it?
