After Soubi went to the kitchen, Ritsuka took a seat on the sofa and stared out
the rained down window. The rain was starting to get worse. He wondered if he could make it home without getting a cold himself. Oh, how his chances were slim.
He scratched behind his ear, the cat ear, seemingly lost in thoght.
Then something occured to him.
Scratching behind his ear felt really good. He continued to scratch behind there, purring to himself.
A few minutes later, Soubi returned to the living room with a tray of two riceballs and the bowls of miso.
"Ritsuka, its ready." Soubi set the tray down, smiling. "I hope you dont mind miso. Its all I have till I go grocery shopping."
Ritsukas ears perked up. "Hai."
They sat there in awkward silence, slurping their miso and munching on their onigiri. Ritsuka had to admit, Soubi was an excellent cook.
"Ritsuka-kun. Daisuki." Ritsuka looked at Soubi, apparently he was done with his miso and onigiri. He was looking at the boy lovingly.
"Please dont say that." He looked away again.
"Doishite?"
"Because....It makes me uncomfortable."
"Im sorry."
"Its okay. Yuo should rest. Youre sick."
"Im feeling much better now that youre here with me." Soubi smiled, reassuringly.
"No, you arent, your face is still a little flushed and you sound congested." Ritsuka leaned over the table and placed the palm of his hand on Soubis forhead. "See? Youre really warm. I bet a thermometer would say that too."
Soubi chuckled. "Really, now? Then...would you mind being my doctor for today?"
"Ah? Doctor?"
"Hai."
"I havent got much ecperience as a doctor."
"Dont worry. Its not as hard as you think it is. C`mon."
"I dont know. What do you want me to do?"
"Do a short check-up, watch over me. Its that simple."
"What should I check on?"
"My pulse, fever. That stuff."
"We dont have any supplies."
"I have a doctors kit in my closet."
"...Y...You do?"
"Yep."
Ritsuka looked down at his lap. "...Oh."
Soubi chuckled again. "So, will you do it?"
Ritsuka looked back up at Soubi. Is being a doctor for Soubi relly something thatll help? "I guess."
Soubi smiled and kissed the boys ear. (not tha cat one) "Thank you. Ritsuka."
