The worse thing about Gaia and other online communities is that when you say something to someone, you never know the true way you are affecting them. You don't know every single horrid detail of their lives, nor of what they've gone through. You never know when, for example, you made some random person avatar art whether even though they say they love it, what they truely think. You can't get into people's minds and find out whether they really do or don't.
Or if you say something to them that they could take wrong or get hurt by, you can't look at their typing and be sure that in real life you're not making them severely depressed. You can't express your mood and tone in typing that easily. And something you say that you believe is completely harmless could trememdously scar someone if what you said made them remember something terrible that happened in their life. Or a phobia in that person's mind could be brought back and cause them great fear of something that isn't supposed to be taken seriously at all.
My point is, you just never know exactly what someone will think when you say something. Could be taken lightly or in the worst way.
