Stuff And Stuff, Man.
So'onel! This is his concept.
So'onel - "moon"; named for his eyes which mirror the stages of the moon

A mage, much like Marugeth or Fe, but for some reason he speaks Hanellian, and only Hanellian. This causes some hilarity with Marugeth because he's aware So' is a mage but can't communicate with him in Amphrell and thus seeds doubt in his tiny monkey brain.

So' has seen some great tragedy, like Marugeth, but on a less personal level because of his outcast position from the mage clan he was a part of. The clan had raised him since his birth, to a woman that refused to step forward and admit her maternity to the nameless child, but treated him badly in the hopes that his mother would finally admit it if she saw her child being abused for that reason. No father stepped forward, but he was never pursued either because his clan saw fathers as simply a tool with which to create children and the mother was much more important. He became property of the clan as a whole and ritually publicly humiliated, each time his tormentor ending the ordeal with a threat that it would continue if the mother did not step forward. After a decade or so the mistreatments stopped, as the elders became aware that the mother may have fled or died since then.

So' never gained the respect of the rest of the clan, however. His clan shunned him as a b*****d child and some still believed his mother was among them. As a result he was still mistreated, kicked by passing kinsmen or referred to in slurs and not by name.

The clan suddenly suffered a plague soon after his twelfth birthday, and mysteriously, the only clansman not to fall ill was So'onel himself. The clan elders in their dying words cursed So', blaming him for their sickness. Stricken with guilt, confusion and grief, he fled the village, returning a month later to find the entire village dead. He took on the duty of burying the remaining unburied dead and stayed in the village until his fifteenth birthday, on which time he finally was forced to leave and declared himself banished from his home.

The plague was set on his home by Martennat, but it wouldn't have succeeded if So'onel's power hadn't been active at the time. So's deeper inner hate for the people that ridiculed him set his normally against-his-will power into full neutrality, ignoring the threat to his clan rather than protecting them. In a way it was his fault, but not consciously.

So' has a bizarre set of innate powers that set him far apart from his clan. Like Marugeth and Fe, he possessed an element outside the normal bounds of their clan, but unlike Marugeth and much unlike Fe, he was able to heighten his power to almost perfection with simple thought exercise. His power made him helpless against his clansmen, however, and he was considered half-breed, despite the fact that Mage genes force out human genes.

So'onel is a silent, sorrowful person, but hidden beneath that demure exterior is a rager, a "dark side" of proverbial context. He can get... creepy in this state. Not your typical "demon form"... this is just So' without any light reflecting from him, eyes in a steady full moon and with a sway over gravity. Has an invisible state in this darkside, detectible by the dust going insane around him. Let's not piss So' off, shall we?

So's power is something akin to perfect Paladinism. He's sort of like a genie. To whatever he pledges his full fealty to, his power acts beyond him to protect or detroy depending on his oath. His power is innate and automatic but an extensive oathing ritual is needed to change his oath. Previous oaths are cancelled by the change only upon his whim. He can enact up to five oaths at a time, but he becomes very physically weak in that case. Oaths are spoken in cryptic riddles of Hanellian. If the intonation is not perfect, the casting will fail because of the problematic accentuation of the language.

It hasn't been known to happen, but So'onel may take an oath to a specific person for either better or worse. He avoids this because of the possibility his automatic power might harm someone he didn't mean to in the process of fulfilling such an oath. He's long searched for the oath that would protect everything from his power, but it's so far eluded him. He searches for this oath purely because he doesn't want to slip into his darkside stage ever again.

If So's oath is to destroy, he will switch into his darkside stage automatically as soon as his target is in sensing range. If his oath is to protect, his darkside is perpetually stifled as long as the person he is protecting is nearby. Because his darkside is so dangerous, he doesn't take destruction oaths lightly and refuses to travel with others if one is enacted.

I have NO IDEA what clan So'onel belongs to, what they worship, or even what sort of animal they're half of. So' has dragon horns and ears, but no tail. Guessing his clan also has the ears and minor horns but So's are longer.

Clan of the Blossoms?

Asás Se'Nús clan O_o;
