We have day to have night There is darkness to make known light Yet she was nurtured in the gloom A Voice in the cold did bloom Grew beautiful and acknowledged Abounded her lovely foliage Till came upon it the radiance of dawn She was exposed on her isolated lawn Illuminated was her comrade never did she see Whom brought the glowing gift was no other than he A placid vine with his twists and turns that sprang for a forgotten bud that burns With some unknown desire for the petal maiden His shoots made the shine to fall onto where she laden Now what will become of our flower That thrived in the twilight hour Can her allure survive against this blaze Bring out a multitude of brilliance and cut through the haze Burst forth a garden from the bloom and the sprout Climbing to the dazzling sky their branches leaf out. xp
