She sat on the dock with her long legs hanging over the edge as she starred at the restaurant just about 30 or so yards from her. Her tears escaped her eyes uncontrollably and ran down her face. They trickled on her chin then gentley landed on her faded jeans. The moon’s reflection danced on the water like it was dancing to the music from restaurant but slightly off que. The restaurant flashed with multiple colors as people danced the new years night away. She cried and cried hoping that someone she loved would come and hold her but for that time she sat there alone… no one came.
A little while before she had arrived into town eagerly awaiting to meet up with her friends, so excited to watch the fireworks with them. She walk up the street and into a little path that lead up to where her uncle was (he had driven her into town since the rest of her family was almost asleep at home). She walked around the house and onto the back porch and sat down(the house they were at was the house her uncles family was staying in). She asked him if she could go and walk around to try and find her friends and he said fine by him but she had to check in every so often to make sure she was okay. She jumped up from the chair she was sitting in and skipped back around the house with her cold hands in her jacket pocket. She wondered and wondered waiting to catch a glance of at least one of her friends so she could spend new years eve with someone but no she found, although she did run into one of her friends but not one she was really hoping for. They engaged in a conversation but it didn’t last long and before she new it she was walking down the street alone… again. She walked and walked and walked until finally she came across the Harbours Edge(the restaurant she was starring at) she slowed down but not completely stoping so it wouldn’t be ovvies and tried to peekin inside the windows to see if any of her friends were in there, but all she saw was people dancing and laughing and having a good time (and probably some drunk people too!) She walked pass the Edge without any delay because to tell you the truth… she was afraid to go in there. She didn’t know why, but she was. She strolled down the street looking for a place to sit down but there was no where. She walked and walked and walked… but no where. Finally she got into the less populated part of town(because all the excitement no one was in that part) and she walked down to this empty dock and sat down… and that is where the story is now BUT there is no more to say… she cried and cried thinking of how fun new years eve was going to be with her friends but now as she sat there… she wished she hadn’t even came into town…
