Religion: Is it the root of all evil?
A very interesting way to look at this subject, Matt. I give props to you. Yes, my friends and I were sitting on the bus on our way to a band contest discussing /serious/ topics that affect the world today.
Religion was brought up. What do you think about it?
It not only seperated the Jews from the Germans in the Holocaust, it also was the cause of the Crusades. They said we were fighting for God. Sure we were, it was over the city, over the land, over the basic racism that still exists in the world of today.
What do you think?
Personally, I don't get much out of muttering to the air for help. I grew up /believing/ but recently things have begun to shake my beliefs. I like God, but I hate church. My pastor thinks I need help. Not just any help. Psychiatrist /sp?/ help.
In some ways it isn't my fault I feel like this. My church isn't very good. I don't want to say /not convincing/ but in a way it isn't. It doesn't bring us closer together, in fact, it seems to push me away.
But...what do you think? Could religion be one of the biggest evils?
