Chapter 4
Over the course of the night, the rain had run its length. The leaves dripped with water, little rivulets running through the ground. Inside the Oracle Cavern, Alex opened his eyes slowly. He instincly reached for his glasses, but realized they were still on his face. He sat up slowly, glancing around. Sifu had gone, where Alex didn't know. Seth and Emma slowly started to wake as well, shifting under their blankets. They both lifted their heads groggily on either side of Alex. "Ah, the Young Procetors are finally wake," said an amused voice from the mouth of the cave. Sifu had returned, carrying three things wrapped in leaves. The shapes were long, but nondescripted and Alex felt they were important. He set them against the cave wall, then went to sit opposite the three kids. "Who's he?" Seth whispered to Alex, pointing the old man. "My name is Sifu," put in the Preceiver. "And me, as well as the rest of Kelowna, need your help." Alex, Emma and Seth looked at each other. "Our help?" asked Emma anxiously. "Why us?" "You three are the lastest Reincarnations of the Celestial Protectors, a group of four element-based warriors and magik-users that keep the peace in Kelowna." The three of them exchanged glances, wondering what he was talking about. "Centuries ago, the evil enchantress, Larissa, took control of Kelowna and killed the last four Protectors. She's ruled with an iron fist ever since, not being bothered by the Protectors."
