The long forgotten lore of my life
When I feel like it I'll update with my thoughts, views, nonsensical ramblings or events. Just another look into my chaotic enough life. I never know what's going to happen.
Swimming with the sharks
Tuesday, May 01:

Swimming with the sharks? As if! But I got to pet a few today. Actually, make that three, and a horseshoe crab thrown in for good measures. Yeah, and this was during school hours. You know what this means? (No! I didn't skip!)

What happened was my Zoology teacher combined my class with his later class and we went on a field trip to the Newport Aquarium. The weather was perfect (a bit humid at 80 degrees) with hardly a cloud in the sky. The place wasn't crowded at all (even being located right next to our famous outdoor mall). What's best, besides having my friends from both classes with me, is my dad. He managed to be one of three chaperons! Now, most kids, I know, would think this is uncool. Simply put, I don't see much of my dad these days. He works two jobs, and is only home roughly 3-4 of my waking hours, and off of one job only three days a week. With the threat of loosing more hours with him to a different job (maybe only seeing him once a MONTH)... I cherish every second I have with him. Happily to say, we survived, and we both had a blast.

God, it was great. A friend of mine, the "famous comedian" and animal expert, the vegetarian Steve-O was there as a student based "shadow" to our teacher. Having him around, along with Chris, Jen, Anna and Nick, really made the trip filled with laughter. Just seeing Steve-O with that foot long pixie stick thing and his snorting sputtering cough was worth it. (That, or his Rap to Childhood Songs alone was prize-worthy)

For lunch, we stopped at Dewy's Pizza. Can you say "the best pizza I've ever eaten?!?". Dad and I split a small pizza, and the whole table talked about the sharks and whether they had an a**l fin or just a pelvic fin. Yeah. Good times.

Would I do it again? Oh HELL yes. No Cniderians, but that didn't matter. When I'm surrounded by friends like that, my dad, and generally having a good time, nothing can bring me down.

Oh, and yes. Sharks have both fin types.

heart Peace out, ya'll! heart
