The Random Happenings of MidnightLore
Just things I want to say/write/comment about. I love ranting.
Julius Caesar Poem: Then Fall, Caesar
This is a poem I wrote for my English Project about Shakespeare's play, Julius Caesar

Then Fall, Caesar

Then fall, Caesar.
A wicked heart had not yet formed.
Rome ruled only in a day.
Friends and enemies torn.

Where Pompey forever stands,
Here, Caesar forever lies.
Hidden motives begin to die,
By gentle Caesar’s side.

Then fall, Caesar
Friends too close for his good.
All with lean, hungry looks,
And reasons misunderstood.

Look here, where they have ran him through
Gifts from Cassius, Casca, Cinna
And the most unkind cut of all,
For Brutus was Caesar’s angel.

Then fall, Caesar
Death brings about new light.
A storm of blood begins to form,
As friends begin to fight.

Caesar’s passing doesn’t bring an end
To the fight the conspirators face.
As Caesar’s ghost predicted
All will end in this place.

Then fall, Caesar
Your ghost set free at Philippi
You stare at your bloody matinee
As your conspirators fall and die.

Caesar, are you pleased
With the decisions that you made?
Would you go back, heed the warnings
And live to see another day?

Then fall, Caesar
Was this all your plan?
To end the conspiracy you knew all along
For good, across your land?

Did you give your life
To save the good of Rome?
To banish the malevolence
That would have taken your home?

Then fall, Caesar
It seems not all your motives died.
For in your master plan,
A reborn Rome will survive.
