My thinkings of my crazy mind

It all started when my aunt started having troubles with hairloss. Her doctor said the bloodwork was ok, she was even too healty! Too healty!?!?? Really? In this day and age, when there is something wrong with everyone.

After some painfull treatment of cortisone injections into the scalp and no improvement, she finally went to another doctor. The doctor saw in her bloodwork a huge hormonal shift in the hormones produced by the thyroid gland and the adrenal gland.

She was then send to the clinic to have them checked on tumors. That test came back negative. So they looked further and wanted to see if the hypophisis was the one causing the problem. That test was cancelled 2 days before the test was planned. Some pills were presribed and off you go! >.>

A couple of weeks later, a friend of hers told her about wheat belly. It's a book on the bad effects of modified grains and in partiullary wheat, the most common used grain in our daily life.

She read it, and since the she is eating no grains or grainproducts and also no potatos. She took the 'slow sugars' from her diet.

Now, twoo months later she lost 15 kilo's!!! (33 lbs) Her hair is starting to grow back, though very slowly. She feels better and is enjoying life again.

I read some parts of the book. I don't believe every word it says but hey,... it worked for my aunt, why not for me. But here's the problem: to stick to such a diet, you need a strong character. I don't have one when it comes to food and denying yourself "yummy stuff". So i started half/half. I don't eat any bread, cookies, potatos (mash, fries,boiled, baked,...) I still eat rice and pasta (the strong character thing, I can't let go of pasta!). So in the mornings I eat a yoghurt or a soft curd cheese (fruity kinde) and either an apple, a banana or a pear. At 10 o'clock some more fruit. At noon either a mixed salad with feta, chicken or fish. At 4 o'clock a bowl of homemade soup and at dinner the meat or fish of the day with veggies (stilling living at home, so i eat whatever gets put on the table). My sin is pizza. Once every month. (I also must say, I did eat a lot of fruit and even veggiesbefore, now i just eat more a day)

And you know what... I stated feeling better. Like I had a different kind of enery. I didn't need my midweek nap to get trough a week of teaching (I teach 12 and 14 year olds maths and biology). I was laughing more, my skin had more shine to it. BUT I didn't loose any weight. So I set myself my next goal: no pasta or rice starting the summer holidays! I will get my diet entirly grain and potato free!

And then comes the next but.. but I screwed up. I ate a load of chips/crisps and other savory party snacks at an after work party. And now i feel bloated, tired as hell, unmotivated...


So I will start again from zero... cause I loved feeling better and I know I can handle it. So till next time.. hopefully with some good news!
