A child was born. "Eric, isn't she darling?" her mother cooed. "yes. but you will have to hide her. In a year or so I must leave." "yes, I suppose I expect that from you." "and Lauren," "yes dear?" "don't tell her much of me unless necessary." the child in Lauren's arms fell asleep. "she's not normal is she.." she said. " well, what do you expect? she didn't even cry when she came out." The Nurse came in."what's her name?" "hm.. how about Katherine?" Lauren suggested. "Katherine Eric Sn-" Eric was interrupted by Lauren "Jones." he sighed, remembering, "yes, Katherine Eric Jones." "alright, you can leave in a few days" the nurse said, and walked out with the paperwork. "Were nurses always like this?" "well most of them are always cranky" the young woman started laughing. And little Katherine slept through all of this.
1 year later
"Eric, are you really leaving?" the woman asked. "Yes, you know I have to. I'll return in a few years." they both knew that was a lie. she frowned. "okay, I'll try to return in a few years." he kissed her cheek goodbye and waved at the little child in Lauren's arms. then he went on his way, east, soon to go to New York. He didn't see the silent tear on his wife's face.
