I went into Widnes town centre today to help raise money for cancer research.

Dwaggie helped me put on my wings and tail at home and I set off to catch the bus into town. Once on the bus, there was a group of about 6 old ladies who insisted I put the rest of my costume on. I humored them. Once my fursuit was on (it's a partial), I told them why I was wearing it. Everyone started throwing change into my bag. XD I must have raised £10 alone on the bus. lol!

Once in town, one of the ladies walked with me to the cancer charity shop. She stopped everyone she knew (and a few people she didnt) telling them that I was raising money for cancer research. By the time we got to the charity shop, I think I had received another £10+!

The manager of the charity shop gave me a bucket to collect donations in and I walked through town centre and into the indoor market. Most everyone seemed to really love the fursuit, although there were a few adults and kids who were frightened. razz

At noon I walked back to the charity shop to take a break and drop off the donations I had got off people. There was a guy there (one of the volunteers husbands) who wanted to take a photo of me in front of the shop. While he took the photos, a woman walked near me and pointed at me saying to her husband, "Look at that! Isnt it amazing?" I waved at her - she must have jumped a good 6 inches in the air! XDD She thought I was a giant plushie! Lmao!!

The manager had balloons for me, so I walked back through town centre handing them out to the kids who dropped some pennies into my bucket. razz Finished up at 4pm. According to the manager, I raised over £120. biggrin
