March 11, 1737

The scarlet moon shone bright. The seas water is a deep maroon. I am happily awaiting my voyage to the land of dusk. Where there is no daylight…or so my step-father says. I want to roam the land, and see what my eyes will show me. I am proud that my step-father, Horton Smith, let me go. However, my mother, Jessie-Belle Smith, was reluctant, but eventually she gave in. My step-father is a strange man, now that I think about it. He always keeps to himself, rarely has a conversation with me, and doesn't eat with me and my beloved mother. Another thing that bother's me is that my mother loves him a little too much…for my taste. I almost forgot! My mother gave me this Victorian journal, for my trip. I'm leaving in a two more days…which won't be long. Time can only go so fast…
