Pet Peeves of 2010
Most of these are from my family's restaurant but some of them are general. Now, without further ado, I present to you my pet peeves of 2010!

1. People who can't read signs
At first it's funny how people don't pay attention to the open/close sign. They just walk into the building and ask if they're closed or open. Obviously employers are to answer but then it gets annoying when it happens over and over again. If you want to know if the place is still open or not, look at the bloody sign hanging on the door! It wouldn't hurt to look at it wouldn't it? No! So for Pete's sake, READ!

2. Not knowing the name of the place you're in
If you don't know the name of the place you're in, I'm sorry to say that you're a bloody idiot. You should know what place you're in, with the exception that you're lost and you need directions. Honestly, it's really frustrating to have people asking employers what's the name of the building they're in when there's a giant sign outside.

3. Short-tempered patrons
If you have a short temper, then it's best if you practice distracting yourself if the service is a bit slow of your liking. Even when travelling with a family that has kids, you should not vent your anger at employers just because the kids ate your bread/biscuit/cracker whatever. It's not the worker's fault so don't vent it out on them. If you're honestly not satisfied with the service, then leave. Just leave and all will be alright, granted you haven't consumed anything from the the restaurant.

4. Loud un-disciplined children
I hate loud noises and most of all, I hate screaming children running amok in a restaurant with their parents chuckling and going on about how delightful their children are. Your children are not delightful, they're horrid. I consider letting your child/ren running amok at a crowded public area (parks and playgrounds excluded) as bad parenting. Screaming babies are understandable, but screaming 5-10 year olds are annoying, frustrating and a bloody headache! Restaurants are dangerous places to run amok in and if your kid gets hurt, the innocent party pays the price all because you're too incompetent to look after your own kids properly! I had to tell off a group of children for playing with the sliding door, screaming inside the restaurants, throwing food and running amok. Needless to say, their parents apologised to me and they were disciplined afterwards. Still, keep an eye on your kids will you?

5. Demanding patrons
I have two hands. Everyone has two hands. I have two feet. Everyone has two feet. Us workers are human beings, not robots. If you want something right away, wait a bit and you'll get it. Don't bulk ask on a busy day because no one will have the capacity to remember every god damn thing you order and requesting it to come immediately. It's not all about you! So wait, be patient and you'll get it. Order slowly, not bulk.

6. Rude patrons
Annoying sub-specie of the human race, these people clearly forgot their manners and consider themselves higher than us. What's the point in teaching you manners? Why to be a polite citizen of course! Rude people are really low and pathetic, they çan't seem to use the word 'please', 'thank you' etc...
It bugs me on how they tie back to point 5 and 3. If your rude to us workers, we'll treat you just the same and you have no valid point to be upset. So think again when you decide to insult someone loudly in front of them.

7. Dirty eaters
Clean up your act and table. 'Nuff said.

Well, that's all for now but if I remember anything I'll add it to my list of pet peeves of 2010! Thanks for reading ^^
