ITS TIME FOR ANOTHER STORY FOR SCHOOL!!!

PARASAILING

We have just gotten out of the car, arriving at Wallowa Lake, rushing to the dock, where the parasailing boat would be waiting. Once we stepped onto the dock I scanned the lake for any sight of the parasailing boat. Something caught my eye in the middle of the lake. It was a parachute! I thought that they wouldn’t take off so soon, since I was scheduled to go at 3:30. I looked at my watch, it read 3:34. I pointed out to my mom that the parasailing boat had already left, taking people parasailing. She asked a person who knew the parasailing schedule if I could go after the other people are finished. But the person said that I shouldn’t because the wind is acting up and it wouldn’t be a smooth ride. But he suggested that I could go at 9:00 the next morning. I pondered what to choose, but after thinking a couple minutes, I chose to go in the morning, because the wind would be much calmer.
After I signed up for the parasailing trip in the morning, we headed back to the cabin. The rest of the day passed by like somebody pressed the fast-forward button. Soon it was night time. I looked out of the window and peered up at the menacing thunder-heads in the sky; praying that they wouldn’t pour on us tonight. After I crawled into bed and turned off the lights, I slowly drifted into sleep. But my sleep was interrupted several hours in, by the crashing of thunder and lighting. I glanced at the clock, which read 3:00, six hours away from parasailing. My worry grew as the storm kept on raging and time crept along. Then an hour later, sleep engulfed me.
I woke up when I heard the faint chirp of my alarm. I quickly hopped out of my bed and peeked out of the window. I breathed a sigh of relief, the storm had stopped and the clouds were scattered among the sky, barely showing proof that a thunder storm had brewed several hours before. Seeing the clear sky lifted my spirits and renewed my energy, as I sped through my morning routine, eager to go parasailing.
I practically leaped out of the car as it rolled to a stop in the parking lot of the lake. I ran toward the dock and gazed at the lake with awe while I waited for my family to catch up to me. Once they caught up, we waited five minutes until we saw the parasailing people, in a big truck pulling the parasailing boat. The boat was set in the water and filled with gas before they drove it over to us. After the boat slowed to a halt, my step-dad and I piled into it.
The boat started up with a roar and drove away from the dock. A couple minutes after we left the dock, the parachute was tossed out of the boat and filled up with air. I was surprised of how big the parachute was; it was at least fifty feet in diameter. A couple minutes later, I was strapped in a lifejacket, a bunch of buckles and a weird harness-type thing. I was hooked up to the parachute and told to sit down at the back of the boat. The boat increased its speed as wind caught the parachute and whisked me off the boat like I was flying. The string that was attached from the parachute to the boat was extending at a steady pace. The farther away from the boat I got, the quieter and calmer my surroundings became. Once the string reached its maximum, I was five-hundred feet in the air. The air was calm and cool, the boat looked like it was going five miles per hour, and the view of the mountains surrounding the lake was spectacular. Time seemed to slow down as I drifted through the air like a cloud. After many peaceful minutes, the string connected to the parachute started jerking as it reeled me in. The peaceful moment had ceased, but the feeling would last a lifetime.
