Things were obviously falling apart, and we were making plans to get out of there asap. We were fairly well known at the front office since it was a small enough complex, so when we went there to explain the situation...we weren't immediately dismissed. They've had plenty of complaints about Larry so the guy was genuinely interested in helping us, but we weren't on the lease....we had zero rental history and as much credit to fall back on. In comes John.
John was Caleb's friend from Michigan..and he was very interested in coming down to have a room of his own. Thankfully he had some small measure of credit, and so the four of us packed up absolutely everything in one day...which wasn't much cause we all slept on the floor...and made our way into our very first apartment. Completely screwing over Larry who I'm sure had no clue what was going on when he came home, and there was nothing to show we had ever been there. From here, things settle down. We have small issues that pop up when ya live with other people, but all in all things went by smoothly. We all worked hard, payed our bills, and sometimes had extra to enjoy. Kdie and I spent 14 or so hours in line for a Nintendo Wii, and I bought a pair of motorized scooters (which turned out to be illegal...but whatever) to make getting to work a lot easier.
Things changed when Kdie made contact with a long lost friend named Kerri. Our lease was ending soon, and the guys wanted to see about getting a different place...but since her bestest of best friends in the whole wide world was this girl Kerri...and because she lived in Maine, I suggested we move to New Jersey where we would stay at my moms house till we got all settled up and could get a place of our own. This way she would be much much closer to her friend if she wanted to visit her, and I missed seeing my family. Also...as a sidenote...there was not a single day that I lived in Florida, that I didn't have a severe nosebleed. Like, serious anime gushing blood moments where only a twisted up tissue would be able to stop it. I heard from a few people that this was normal :/
Around this time we had a very important addition to our group...his name was Pepito Von Handbanana...a floppy eared rabbit that was colored like a cow. I'll edit this with a pic soon as I can. Kdie decided she wanted a bunny, and someone on Myspace was giving theirs away cause her kids were too young for it since he could get a bit rough. We had no method of transportation...and renting a car meant we had to be 25 or older...which at the time we weren't...but we discovered that we were able to rent a Uhaul...which worked out great!
Anyway, it soon became clear that even though we got exactly what she wanted, the novelty wore off quickly and he became much more MY rabbit than hers.
Finally...the time came to make the move. By that time, we had an entire life set up. We started with nothing and sleeping on the floor, to having a furnished apartment and a real bedroom...but we would only be able to take what we could carry...nothing more...but that didn't bother me. We did it once and this next adventure wouldn't be nearly as difficult.
I'll re-edit this to fill in more info, but for now this is a good place to stop. It's hard condensing a few years into a few paragraphs, but there's a lot...like visiting home, my mom visiting my apartment, Kdie's family and the X-mas I wanted to murder them all, how I lost my job at Borders, and my new friends at Big Lots...I wanna try to get it all down, because after this point...everything changes.
