"The world as we know it today," he began, "is not how the world has always been. Long ago, before the birth of heroes, before the forces of good existed; all that there was, was the evil, and the helpless."

He paused. His thoughts again turned inward, thinking of a time I would never fully understand. I took advantage of the pause to ask a question.

"You said... before heroes, and forces of good... right?"

"Yes," was his reply.

"um... then where were you?"

"I was a part of it," he answered, "Yes, even I was Evil."
