You can do the story in many orders, but gym leaders are definitely set strengths. I tend to overlevel, so even when I trip into new hard to reach areas, I'm typically ready. I can understand the confusion.

I haven't read Tokyo Crazy Paradise yet. Is it more mature than Skip Beat? I like josei manga but shojou is fun too.

The 3-in-1 options are more price-friendly, but they get sold out quickly. It's never too late to catch up. Right now, I think it's printing 3-4 volumes a year?
